The Susan Wakil Health Building at Sydney University is a state-of-the-art facility designed to bring together multiple health disciplines within a single precinct dedicated to innovation, learning and socialisation. Spread across eight floors with views across the city, the building features state-of-the-art clinical simulation teaching spaces, formal and informal learning facilities, contemporary research areas, a multi-service clinic serving research, teaching, industry and community outreach functions, activity-based workspaces including open plan workstations, quiet spaces and social areas, a 350-seat lecture theatre, and a rehabilitation gym. This comprehensive health education facility required waterproofing solutions capable of protecting diverse spaces serving teaching, research and clinical functions.
To meet the highest performance and sustainability standards, the project focused on:
