The Project
Project Details
The $790 million redevelopment transformed Liverpool Hospital into a world-class medical hub and one of New South Wales’ leading health precincts. This comprehensive project included the reconfiguration of existing car parks, a new kitchen facility, a new mortuary, helipad upgrades and a temporary education facility to enable continuous hospital operations throughout construction. The Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct will feature approximately 900 beds (an increase of over 20 per cent), significant expansion in ambulatory services with almost double the chemotherapy treatment spaces, expanded women’s and children’s services including 16 new birthing suites and 50 NICU and Special Care Nursery beds, a larger emergency department and intensive care unit, additional theatres, and a new multi-storey car park.
To meet the highest performance and sustainability standards, the project focused on:
- Delivering low-VOC, environmentally responsible waterproofing systems suitable for sensitive healthcare environments with strict standards
- Providing reliable protection across diverse applications including mortuary facilities, kitchen areas, helipad surfaces and expanded clinical spaces
- Ensuring long-term durability and performance for critical healthcare infrastructure serving one of Sydney’s fastest-growing regions
Envirosystems Solution
Envirosystems was used for the Liverpool Hospital redevelopment, delivering waterproofing solutions across the early works phase and preparing for the main construction programme. The specification addressed diverse applications including car park reconfigurations, the new kitchen facility, mortuary, helipad upgrades and temporary education facilities.
The Envirosystems products provided reliable, environmentally responsible waterproofing protection suited to the demanding requirements of healthcare infrastructure. The systems ensured appropriate performance standards for sensitive medical environments while supporting the hospital’s continued operations throughout the staged transformation into a world-class health and academic precinct serving the Liverpool community and broader region.
