Project Details
This project involved the complete reconstruction of an outdated 20-storey 1970s office building, transforming it into a signature development in the heart of Sydney’s CBD. The existing building was stripped back and rebuilt to include a new high-performing, environmentally responsive facade system, setting a world-class standard for energy efficiency in commercial buildings. The development encompasses A-grade office space, premium retail and basement car parking, and won an MBA award for Site Safety Commercial Projects $50 million and over.
To meet the highest performance and sustainability standards, the project focused on:
- Delivering low-VOC, environmentally responsible waterproofing systems aligned with the building’s world-class energy efficiency and sustainability credentials
- Providing specialised solutions across diverse applications including green roofs, portable water tanks, wet areas, plant rooms and blindside membranes
- Ensuring UV-resistant and root-resistant systems capable of protecting complex building elements in a premium CBD development
Envirosystems Solution
Envirosystems was selected as the supplier of low-VOC waterproofing membrane systems for the reconstruction of 20 Martin Place, adding to the list of high-profile tier-one developments incorporating Envirosystems technology. Products were selected based on proven track records in similar projects and the environmentally friendly nature of the solutions, ensuring alignment with the building’s sustainability objectives.
The comprehensive list of products included Enviro 200P Ultra for wet area walls, Enviro Epoxy RC for pump room floors, plant rooms and sumps and Enviro HP1600 for blindside membrane applications. These Enviro products proved to be high-quality, low-risk alternatives to other waterproofing systems on the market, delivering reliable protection across the diverse applications of this critical CBD infrastructure.
